Ushuaia, Argentina is the southernmost city in the world, and also a great place to view the Southern Lights. We tend to hear more about the Northern Lights simply because more people live close to the North Pole than the South Pole, but in the south they are just as beautiful!
In class (back in March), kindergarteners created their own version of the “Southern Lights” out of black and white paper, chalk, and sparkles to further their color study. This will also be related to a larger Lower School project, to be announced soon! Here is the link we watched in class- skip to minute 1:49. The video is from Iceland, but it is the same atmospheric phenomenon in the south!
